Red River bounced their way to victory last weekend when they raised money for charity.
The team at Red River often take part in fundraising initiatives and this time they raised money for MindOut, a Brighton based charity supporting the mental health of people in the LGBTQ+ community. The event of choice was a 5km run, with inflatable obstacles at Goodwood.
On a bright and sunny Saturday, 18 intrepid fundraisers bounced their way around the Goodwood 5k inflatable race battling their balance and the heat.
They were thrown in at the deep end with their first challenge being reminiscent of Total Wipeout, a rotating arm of which you had to avoid by either ducking or running.
Throughout the course each determined racer battled their way through a variety of different obstacles, including vaulting over walls, swinging on ropes, crawling through tubes and sliding down giant slides.
It consisted of two laps at 2.5k each, with a good mix of running and inflatables (32 to be exact). Even if the day was hot and course was hard, everyone left with a smile and the satisfaction that they’d raised money for a great cause.
MindOut is a mental health service run by and for LGBTQ people. They offer local support for people based in Brighton and Hove, as well as an online support service available globally. As well as this, they also offer peer mentoring, counselling and information services.
